Ixia Optimizes Video Streaming for Millions at Sapporo Snow Festival
Ixia solutions test broadcasting technology’s high-load compliance and quality of service
TOKYO — Feb. 15, 2013 — Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), a provider of test, assess and optimization solutions that accelerate and secure application delivery, validated the resiliency and quality of broadcast networks at the 2013 Sapporo Snow Festival. Ixia solutions, including IxNetwork 7.0, the XM2 chassis and BreakingPoint Storm, were used in a demonstrative experiment of the futuristic broadcasting distribution technologies at the 64th annual festival, which took place Feb. 5-11, 2013, in Sapporo, Hokkaido.
Ixia Supports Sapporo Snow Festival
For the first time, Ixia participated in an annual demonstrative experiment conducted by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology to deliver festival video content to global audiences with its JGN-X network. Ixia’s participation enabled the organization to analyze and monitor real-time network behaviors by using the latest networking technologies.
Ixia joined a global team of industry-leading corporations and research institutes for the experiment to create and showcase the close cooperation between industry and academia with a focus on the next-generation networking technologies. Ixia, via IxNetwork, the XM2 chassis with Xcellon-Flex AP as well as BreakingPoint Storm, tested and verified the Sapporo Snow Festival video distribution service’s network quality to ensure it was constantly maintained, even under the most extreme operating conditions.
