F5 Networks, HP and Verizon Join Tesla Alliance Customer Advisory Board
Customer Advisory Board formed as the TesLA Alliance expands
Santa Clara, Calif. - (November 13, 2008) - The TesLAcm Alliance (Test Lab Automation) today announced the formation of a Customer Advisory Board (CAB), comprised of leading network operators and network product vendors. The advisory board will foster customer participation and help guide the TesLA Alliance in its efforts to achieve open multivendor test automation. The advisors and TesLA members, including Ixia, will share their expertise, vision and requirements to ensure that TesLA solutions exceed the industry's needs for seamless interoperation in multivendor test labs. The TesLA members will welcome the CAB at the upcoming quarterly meeting of the TesLA Alliance on November 14, 2008 at Ixia's iSimCity in Santa Clara, Calif.
The TesLA advisors come from industry leading companies such as F5 Networks, HP, and Verizon. Each advisor is a recognized leader in the IP test automation community and brings to TesLA a unique perspective to the challenges facing IP test labs worldwide. Since the launch of the TesLA Alliance in August 2008, members have made great strides in integrating their products to the TesLA framework.
The TesLA Alliance is incorporated as a non-profit entity, with a tiered membership structure and a published set of bylaws and governing policies. Although Ixia will serve as the primary lead of the alliance during its formative stages, TesLA bylaws are structured to ensure neutrality and afford equal opportunities to all members of the alliance.
Many components of the TesLA framework have been developed and integrations are underway. At the next quarterly meeting of the alliance, the TesLA framework will be demonstrated to the CAB and other key industry leaders. It is expected that the CAB will be a strategic influence in the development of the TesLA automation framework.
In our industry, we struggle with so many different technologies and vendors, says Keith Kidd, director of test automation at Verizon. It's critical that we take a proactive approach to guiding the IP test industry. TesLA is an industry forum for sharing and executing on these ideas.
TesLA is founded on the principle of true multivendor test automation. The TesLA member companies have come together to collaborate for the benefit of the customer community. The enthusiastic support for the CAB is evidence that the TesLA members share this vision and place the success of their customers first.
Since its inception, Ixia's objective has been to create TesLA as a true industry effort.said Vic Alston, senior vice president of product development for Ixia. The Customer Advisory Board helps to ensure that vision; all advisory board members have full voting rights and can guide the alliance.
