AutomationIxN2X QuickTests automate common test scenarios for validating router and network performance. IxN2X ships with over one hundred tests scripts which reflect test plans published in the Journal of Internet Test Methodologies. Tests include:
Test ComposerThe Test Composer automation framework allows you to build and execute test suites with no knowledge of IxN2X's programming interface. Its point-and-click scripting capability is easy to learn, reducing the time required to automate your test bed, and enabling easy scheduling of overnight test runs. Test Composer configures your device(s) under test, as well as your IxN2X test system, and collects results from all test components to determine whether the test passed or failed. |
||
Conformance Test SuitesThe IxN2X protocol conformance solution incorporates a unique Test Manager with industry-leading usability and reporting features. The Test Manager reduces test cycle time through rapid result diagnosis and problem isolation. The tree-based test suite configuration, dynamic graphical protocol sequence diagram and comprehensive reporting features of the IxN2X Conformance Test Manager simplify testing. Combined with granular test result evaluation (pass, conditional pass, inconclusive and fail), detailed packet decodes and filtering capabilities accelerate resolution of test case errors. Available suites include:

IxN2X Chassis
IxN2X 2-slot Portable Chassis
The chassis provides a convenient platform for testing scenarios where portability or small size is a factor. Two different card types can be configured simultaneously allowing for test scenarios that use a combination of port types.IxN2X 4-slot Chassis
The chassis provides a small, flexible platform that can be either mounted in a standard 19" rack or stacked on a bench top. It can accommodate up to 4 test cards, providing added flexibility in system configuration.IxN2X 4-slot Chassis with ext BITS / MTS clock input
This version of the 4-slot chassis has the capability to synchronize the transmit clock on all the IxN2X XM test cards in a system to a common source. Users have a choice of four external reference clock inputs for synchronization:- 1.544 Mb/s BITS
- 2.048 Mb/s MTS
- 2.048 MHz
- 10 MHz
Key Features
- Hot-swappable test cards Cards can be swapped between chassis while the system is powered, allowing cards to be added or removed without interrupting another user's test run.
- Multi-user, remotely accessible Multiple users can access a single chassis, each controlling their own set of test ports within the chassis. The test system is remotely accessible via the on-board application programming interface.
- Support for SONET/SDH, POS, ATM, Ethernet, and Frame Relay interfaces The Ixia IxN2X solution provides support for SONET/SDH (OC-3/12/48 & OC-192), POS (OC-3c to OC-768c), ATM (OC-3c & OC-12c, Ethernet (10 Mb/s to 10Gb/s), and Frame Relay (OC-3c to OC-48c).
- Daisy-chain up to 60 chassis, time synchronized to 10 ns Up to 60 chassis, or 3 full test racks, can be daisy chained and synchronized to 10 ns for large scale testing

System Controllers
A choice of system controllers is available to suit individual performance requirements. An Ethernet switch is required for system controllers that will connect to more than one IxN2X chassis (or XM chassis for FUSION-enabled IxN2X test systems). Customers can choose either an 8-port or a 24-port Ethernet system switch.
Controller Options
|
