ATI Year to Date Recap

September 30, 2014 by Ixia Blog Team

The Ixia Application and Threat Intelligence (ATI) team is constantly working to keep Ixia customers informed of the latest events in network and information security. We provide updates to our customers with at least a bi-weekly frequency. Whenever a special event comes up, like Heartbleed or Shellshock, we turn-around with a special ATI for our customers. This responsiveness is important, as it gives our customers the ability to test and validate the hot-off-the-press updates from security vendors.

Looking at our work from the beginning of January 2014 to now, we have been very busy. It demonstrates how active the security world is today, and it also shows the great benefit having a support service like Ixia ATI on your side of the battle.

This year to date (January 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014) we’ve added:

  • Strikes: 743
  • Applications: 44
  • Super Flows: 2,355

Over the years, we have built a very comprehensive set of attacks and applications. As of ATI 223518, we have provided Ixia ATI customers a total of:

  • Strikes: 36,021
  • Applications: 264
  • Super Flows: 3,301

Through our Evergreen program, the ATI team provides monthly updates for applications like Facebook, the most popular web mail systems, and instant messaging programs. Keeping up to date with these protocols is a key use case for lawful intercept, data leak protection, and generally any deep packet inspection products.

The Security team is producing monthly malware updates for Ixia customers. This is a collection of the most recently seen and highly visible malware – the stuff you're A/V must protect you from. See a video blog about this monthly service for more details.
