Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT. Ixia and NCASM 2019
The coming of TLS 1.3 has probably made things more challenging for a lot of organizations, as we explored in The Malware Cloaking Device and How to Beat It. We also saw users and customers of some of the biggest names on the net fall victim to DNS hijacking exploits. Mirai remained alive and well on old gear, and we saw Bluekeep crawling up RDP. Recently we took a look at the Phishing Chain and what you get in Phishkits.
This year, the theme of National Cybersecurity Awareness month is all about personal responsibility. While it is true that there are certain things you cannot avoid (think zero day exploits) the harsh reality is that many times breaches are not the result of exotic zero days. Instead, they are a result of far more simple things like failing to change default credentials, not patching, not updating or taking poorly considered risks.
We will be posting videos, articles, blogs and other good things on our NCSAM 2019 page and invite you to come back throughout the month of October for updates and new content.
We also have the good fortune of having Scott Behm, Keysight CISO, providing tips and hints on how you can keep safe. Until next time, please stay safe.
